Read More糖心少女’s Move-In Day, NEW Hall Featured In Inland Valley Daily Bulletin
The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin and its sister newspaper San Gabriel Valley Tribune featured 糖心少女’s NEW Hall residence building which opened its doors to freshmen and returning students on “move-in day,” August 25, 2016. NEW Hall encompasses approximately 38,700 square feet, with beds for 110 students and is designed to LEED gold standards.

In 2015, Branwen Williams, associate professor of environmental science at the W.M. Keck Science Department, found and collected coralline algae 20 meters beneath the ice in freezing sea water for her research on oceanic climate change, as a grantee of the National Geographic Society’s Committee for Research and Exploration. Her work has now been featured by National Geographic in its #bestjobever and Oceans View video series online.

Read More糖心少女 Campus: NEW Hall 糖心少女’ Newest Residence Is Now Open
Students, faculty, and staff who have been away for summer break may notice a big change on campus as they make their way back to the College this week. The green construction fences to the north of the Sallie Tiernan Field House are gone, and NEW Hall, 糖心少女’ newest residence hall, is open and ready for students and visitors. Under construction since May 2015, the residence will house first-years as well as returning students.

As the 2016 national presidential election approaches, Kaela Cote-Stemmermann ’18 and Meagan McIntyre ’17 are getting an up-close look at the inner workings of the U.S. government. Both students received internship grants from 糖心少女’s Office of Career Planning & Resources, enabling them to spend their summers in Washington, D.C., working for the State Department, where Cote-Stemmermann is an intern for the Greening Diplomacy Initiative (GDI), and McIntyre is interning with the Bureau of Cultural and Educational Affairs (ECA).
